Would you like your child to go off to college and quickly succeed academically, thrive socially, and have an unfair advantage?
With most kids leaving home for the first time, they want to feel independent of you but still need guidance. Well, I can help them master each part of college quickly and have fun doing it while you sleep better at night.
Here I am getting ready to go to college—nice pants, Danny.
My program is called Danny's College Masterclass
catchy, right?
Your child will join me every other week during the year for a live group meeting where I share awesome stories, tell terrible jokes, and give detailed strategies to succeed in college that they'll actually listen to and take action on (because I'm not you :)
Thank you for being who you are! Your unique gift is being able to understand young people and help parents like us better understand our children.
Dori and Rob Kenneally
Danny is the best! His incredible support and confidence in my best qualities helped me believe that anything was possible.
Ava Maybee, student & recording artist
It's wonderful people like you who keep the integrity and build the character of future generations. Thank you for giving us direction that has helped both of our kids.
Dr. Ivan Brooks
Imagine if your child calls you regularly from college about their incredible experience where they are learning so much about themselves rather than calling you crying or telling you about the challenges they are facing.
Over the years, so many of my past students contacted me only after they started having issues because they didn't know what to expect and didn't have the tools to navigate this incredible time of transition.
This is why, for the last few years, I have helped students get ahead of the curve by teaching them what they needed to know before something came up for them.
And this has made all the difference.
Danny's college advice was a life saver for me. Not only did he help me become a better college student, but his help with a roommate seriously got me into a much better situation.
Katherine Ewell
Past Stanford Student
Ok, Danny—your College Masterclass is incredible.
But what’s actually covered? What do we get when I enroll?
Glad you asked! Here's what the curriculum looks like:
Part One - Pre-recorded lessons that can be started anytime before college
-
What to bring & what to expect (I'm talking all important shower sandals, initial homesick remedies, and the best extra long sheets.)
-
Selecting the best housing for you (and doing your darnedest to make sure you get it). This includes the all important roommate forms/selections
-
Choosing and scheduling classes to ensure success out of the gate (and Fridays off, am I right?)
-
How to do laundry, set up bank accounts, start establishing credit, and other important stuff (hangover remedies, etc.)
Part Two - LIVE Online Meet-Ups & Q&As Twice a Month on Sundays 11am PST
(i.e. after all students sleep in, obviously)
Note: these are also recorded and can also be watched anytime
August - 2 sessions
-
Setting things up with the roommate—this one is actually super important. Establishing clear communication channels & setting expectations can make a huge difference when things get tough, which is kind of inevitable when living in a 12X10 room with someone.
-
Making friends right away—it's been my experience that college is great once you make your five friends. It sucks when you don't, so I can help you increase the odds of finding your people.
September - 2 sessions
-
Mastering communications with professors and TAS—I can't emphasize this one enough. You can literally reduce your work and stress 25%-50% by employing the simple strategies I'll teach you.
-
Navigating Greek life—okay, so this one isn't for everyone, but not only will you learn all about rush and pledging but also what to do if you DON'T want to join a frat or a sorority when it seems like everyone else does.
October - 2 sessions
-
The greatest college study hacks of all time—these are proven strategies used by the best students to stop those procrastination tendencies in their tracks and set up systems to handle the increased workload from high school (I know..."Wait there's more work in college?" Yes, but the trick is knowing what to do when.)
-
Dealing with anxiety—this one's close to my heart because I had to navigate Stanford with undiagnosed anxiety and OCD. These strategies took me years to discover, and I have a calling to help as many of you as possible get control of that hamster wheel in your head.
November - 2 sessions
-
Handling changing friend groups, winter weather, roommate issues—despite best intentions, sometimes life can get hard. Let's employ some strategies for moving through and around obstacles, so you can keep going and feel better about things as quickly as possible.
-
Studying for finals—tests are a bit different in college than they are in high school, so having a real strategy is key. Did you know that in some classes, the final is worth 100% of your grade? (See what I mean?) Let's develop ways to crush them.
December - 1 session
-
Taking advantage of what no one else does in college Part 1—Boy, I wish someone had told me these things when I went to college. We're talking about creating future connections and establishing a "brain trust" of talented students.
January - 2 sessions
-
Taking advantage of what no one else does in college Part 2—Okay, you're back from winter break, so it's time to take it to the next level. We're talking about finding underutilized resources at your school and creating your own opportunities with all the time you have and talent around you.
-
Getting mentors—want incredible internships? Research opportunities? Business guidance? A great job after graduating? You'll never have more access to mentors who want to help you than in college...yet almost no one takes advantage of them. But you aren't no one are you?
February - 2 sessions
-
Figuring out a major/interest/possible career—so, how the heck are you supposed to know what you're really interested in, let alone what you eventually want to do? You're not supposed to. But instead of following what others "think" is a good idea, let's figure out what your strengths are and what you might actually enjoy doing instead of comparing yourself to others.
-
Getting summer jobs/internships early—like with just about everything else I teach, there is a system to this...that most don't use or know about. I'll teach what works in the real world (hint: it's not applying online...)
March - 2 sessions
-
Handling romantic relationships (it is spring after all…)—ah college, no parents, no rules...and serious hook up cultures. How can you find someone worthwhile (beyond parties), and how do you handle dealing with a lack of privacy, possibly your first real heart break and—let's be honest—wanting to ask out that student in your biology course. We get into all of it.
-
Selecting housing for the following year—you're gonna have more choices, but what are the pros/cons to moving off campus? How do you tell your friend you don't want to live with them? And which is better: double, suite, or apartment?
April - 2 sessions
-
Personal finance and credit building hacks—do you know that you can't buy a car, rent an apartment after graduation, or do any cool adult stuff unless you have good credit? So many students don't take advantage of the opportunities they have to set themselves up financially while in college because no one tells you. This is why I had thousands in credit card debt when I graduated. (What do you mean only making the minimum payment each month can extend what I owe by decades?)
-
Future planning—okay, if you're a freshman, maybe your biggest decision is where to travel with your friends this summer. However, if you start putting some things in place early, your job prospects and ability to avoid both "sophomore slump" (a real thing) and the "crappy early-20s syndrome" (my term) can be significantly reduced. Besides, wouldn't it be great to be excited about your future years in college and beyond rather than dreading them?
Also included:
-
During the sessions, I will bring on current colleges students to discuss their experiences and give their own advice how to master college.
-
All students will be able to ask questions during each live session (and they can do it anonymously if they want).
-
Students can join the program at any time during the year or during college because they will have access to both the live sessions and the recordings for life!
But wait! There's More!
(I've always wanted to stay that—#GinsuKnives)
Special first-come, first-served BONUSES
Your child's own student mentor & guide*
Wherever your child will be attending, I will personally set up a connection between them and a current student at their future college. This way, your child can get immediate advice and answers, as well as open doors to meeting other students.
* Limited to early enrollees due to the time constraints of the mentors, so act quickly!
Special Parent Sessions and Q&As
It's important for your child that you know what's coming and what they're going through while in college, so you can best support them.
This is why in August, December, and April, I hold parents-only live-events where I update you on all I've heard and provide tips and strategies to help your child become the best version of themselves.
You've spent 18 years getting them to this point, so just letting them go is one of the hardest things you'll have to do.
Just think about how much stress this will save you, as you no longer have to sit at home worrying how your child is doing out in the world?
Why Should You Trust Me?
I feel fortunate to be nationally recognized as one of America’s premier youth coaches. After being the first from my family to attend college and the third student to be accepted into Stanford University from my public high school, my mission became to help as many young people think BIG and realize their abilities. I'm the author of The Ultimate College Acceptance System (St. Martin’s Press) and Top 100 Answers to Your College Admission Questions. I have also been blessed to have helped the children of celebrities and CEOs around the world and have created coaching programs used by nonprofits and Fortune 500 companies.
So, how much does this cost?
For context, you could pay $18,000 to work with me 1-1. Or, as plenty of companies have done, you could pay $5,000 to fly me out to give a 30-60 minute talk where I cover 1% of what you and your child will learn in the program. The truth is, I have spent over 20,000 hours with high school and college students, and all this time has given me unique insights into how their brains work, the current challenges they face, and their amazing capabilities. So that’s one way of putting my pricing into context.

The other way to put the price into context is to think of it as an investment in your family's legacy. If you want your child to keep the status quo, this program probably isn't for you. But if you want to motivate your child to discover authentic interests, develop self-reliance, and take responsibility for their life, then investing some money to impact their life as an adult, while also helping your grandkids and generations to come seems like a no-brainer.

Anyway, enough spiel—here's the price.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Should my child attend with me?I love it when students also join the calls because then they can hear someone other than you give great advice! Having said this, if your teenager cannot join, this is perfectly fine because I designed this program to help you help them (aka getting them to actually listen to you :) Of course since every session is recorded, they can also watch any part they want, any time they want!
-
What if I can't make a session? No problem! Both the live Masterclass and the live Meet-ups/Q&A Sessions are recorded, so you will be able to watch them at your convenience.
-
Does my child need to be a certain age for me to join the program?Nope. While I designed the program for parents of 9th-12th grade students, I have had families with middle schoolers join who want to be ahead of the curve.
-
How much time will I get with you personally?Great question! My goal is to answer as many parent questions as I can during both the Masterclass and the subsequent Meet-Ups/Q&A Sessions. Of course, we only have so much time, so I can't always talk to every parent every time. I know that most parents feel that their child's situation is unique, and while this definitely can be true, I also know that the strategies I will cover and the answers I will give will apply to almost all family situations. So, please just know that my goal is to overdeliver on value because I want nothing more than to hear your child's success stories down the road.
-
What if I have a freshman or sophomore—will I have to pay again in future years?Nope. You will be able to attend the Meet-ups and Q&As until your child has finished their college applications!
-
Why are you only charging $1?Because I want to provide a huge amount of value first to prove that your investment of time and money is worth it. In other words, you can take the entire Masterclass first to ensure the program is for you. Then we will charge the rest of the $495 fee the day after the class. If, for any reason, you aren't fully satisfied and don't want to continue to get the Monthly Meet-ups/Q&As or the bonuses, just email us at contact@dannyruderman.com, and you won't be charged (we will send this info to you too).
-
Why should I register my child for Acceptance Academy?I believe this is the absolute best and most efficient way for students to get into top colleges while becoming the best versions of themselves. And the thousands of success stories have proven the effectiveness of my system. Think of it this way: if your teen just learned one thing that helped them raise their grades, discover a passion, or make the difference in getting into a great school, wouldn't that alone be worth it? I have spent years making this program to democratize top college and success coaching—instead of paying tens of thousands of dollars to hire me 1-on-1, you can get the same guidance and results for a fraction of the cost!
-
What if my child isn't using the program? Is there a money-back guarantee?Yes! I want all families to be incredibly happy with the program and believe my offerings can't be found anywhere else. However, if a family is not satisfied for any reason within the first 3 months, all a parent has to do is email me at the email address on your receipt and I will be happy to provide a full refund.
-
Who’s the Acceptance Academy for? It’s for students in 9th through 12th grade who want to attend selective 4-year colleges.
-
What if my child misses a live workshop or part of the Bootcamp?I recognize that with sports, theater, saving the whales, etc., students have incredibly busy schedules. This is why I record all classes (including the Bootcamp sessions) and make them available a day later via email. This way, anyone who either missed a session or simply wants to review the material can do so at their own pace. For the Bootcamp, I am offering 2 dates in August and will also be sending out replays of each day.
-
How much individualized time will my child have with me directly?I created Acceptance Academy to be an affordable way for students to get coached through high school with the strategies, techniques, and bad jokes I’ve used with students 1-on-1 for years. As a result, this system has proven incredibly effective at helping students become the best versions of themselves and get into great colleges. I definitely answer student questions during the live classes, parent questions during the live Q&As, and I personally respond to as many email questions as I possibly can. However, due to my schedule and the number of families applying to college, I cannot work individually with students as part of this program.
