Help Your Teen Become

Join America's Premier College Counselor Danny Ruderman as he helps your child maximize potential, pursue passions, and get accepted in America's top colleges!

So many parents (and teens) find the admissions process extremely complicated, and it truly can be incomprehensible.

But today, you don't have to be one of them.

As an independent college counselor with over 18 years’ experience, there's nothing that I love more than helping students become the best versions of themselves and navigating the admissions process so they can go to colleges where they can truly thrive.

The fact is that the admissions process has changed. It's become a lot more intense than when we were applying to college. Your child may tell you, time after time, that they're just so stressed and are afraid to apply to college, and yet they won't listen to you when you try to help them.

I've got you.

I'm invested in your teen enough to bring out their potential.

The admissions process focuses on the individual, quirks and all, far more than most parents realize.

I always encourage the teens to grow as people, not simply as applicants (which of course makes them stronger applicants!)

I help your child be seen as a real person outside of their material application file.

I truly believe that students don’t need to do MORE, and MORE, and MORE to look ‘good’ to a college. Instead, students should strive to be authentically interesting because this is what separates your teen from another student who also had the same, long list of extracurriculars.

When your teen dreams BIG, they are revealing their truest self.

My students discover how to turn their interests into incredible opportunities that can be truly life-changing. In my 18+ years of helping students think BIG and dream BIG, I have:

  • Encouraged a girl who loved to write become a published novelist in her senior year (she went on to attend Stanford).

  • Helped a boy reach out to a famous music producer, get an internship, go on tour with Ed Sheeran, and is now producing artists (he went to NYU).

  • Guided a girl to get certified as an EMT while in high school and then went on to Yale and Penn med school.

  • Convinced a boy to submit his application to Stanford, despite his sincere protestations, where he went on to invent Snapchat!

“Danny totally had my back and helped me express who I really was–no easy task in such a high-growth phase of life. I am forever grateful for Danny’s guidance.”

—  Evan Spiegel, CEO Snapchat

“Danny gave outstanding advice and was patient and kind with my daughter. If you’re looking to help get your child accepted into a top university, Danny would be your first choice.”

—  Dylan McDermott, Actor

"Danny gets what teens are going through and is good at explaining things in ways that make sense.
He made me feel a lot less stressed about the process."

— Imani Cheadle, Student

Teens, you might want to hear this:

Whether or not you have known you have wanted to be a doctor since the age of two or your secret dream is to start your own company...

Whether you're a science nerd or kinda like English but don't yet know what you are interested in...

Whether your parents want you to do 147 hours of community service or keep telling "not to worry" about where you go to college...

You’re different from any other student
I get what you're going through.

No matter what type of teen you are, I want to help you do better in school, dream BIG, and find your own, authentic voice—especially in that personal essay (which I know is scary).

I also want to help your parents understand the process, so they can support you without driving you crazy.

And I don’t want you to spend your evenings nervously Googling answers to the questions that keep you up at night:

I don’t want you to cross your fingers and
hope the other resources work.

So, I created 2 online classes for teens & an audio resource for parents.

  • Am I doing enough?

  • How do I stay on top of it?

  • How do I even start writing my college essays?

  • Will I get into someplace I actually like?
